Retirement: does it leave space for the things we love?

When Hernan moved to Australia in 1976, he embraced his dream of joining a band. His Chilean music group became his single biggest passion.

However, basic financial security made this extremely difficult.

As a day job, he worked as a petrol station console operator for 22 years – and the default super of these jobs often left a lot to be desired.

Since moving to AustralianSuper, the lower fees and financial advice have given Hernan the financial peace of mind he needed to keep his biggest passions in his life.

Now his children are at university, he can make the most of that freedom.

“I’m a musician. I’m an actor now. I’m singing. I pay my house. What more do I want to do? Enjoy the life”.

What are you most passionate about? Do you feel you have the freedom to enjoy it in retirement?
