Travel is a wondrous thing – but you know what’s better? Getting to experience it with like-minded people!

Each year Travel at 60 creates special trips for the over-60s community, and with overseas holidays off the cards for now, they’re focusing on Australian adventures. Whether you’re planning on getting away later this year, or are looking for something to plan towards for 2021 – there’s so much to choose from.

From sunny Queensland getaways where you can relax on the beach, to exploring the beauty of Kangaroo Island off the coast of South Australia, travellers are eager to holiday near home. In fact, this month three group tours organised by Travel at 60 have set off on their adventures within the Sunshine State.

But, there’s many more planned for the coming months, and further into 2021! Click here to explore all the community trips on offer, or read on to find out more about our top picks.

Spend Christmas on Fraser Island

To experience Christmas a bit differently this year you could join a community trip to Fraser Island, with meals, tours, transfers and more all included in the price. During the four-night adventure you’ll venture to the island’s main sites and attractions including the beautiful Lake McKenzie, 75 Mile Beach and Eli Creek.

And, of course you’ll also be treated to a delicious feast on Christmas day with your fellow group travellers and have plenty of time to relax afterwards in the beautiful resort. It could become your new festive season tradition!

Play lawn bowls on Kangaroo Island

If you love playing bowls, then you can’t miss the Kangaroo Island community holiday in March next year. Travel at 60 have teamed up with the Kangaroo Island Lawn Bowls Association to offer our community this amazing tour of the South Australian island, which combines sightseeing and friendly lawn bowls games with local teams.

One of Travel at 60’s most popular adventures is the incredible Tilt Train and Turtles Getaway. It’s continuously selling out, but thankfully the team have recently secured some more dates for December this year and February 2021.
