Travelling around Australia at your leisure, either as a self-sufficient grey nomad or in the luxury of an air-conditioned coach, is a favourite retirement activity, which usually involves stopping at much-loved spots such as Uluru, the Great Ocean Road and Kakadu. But how to know if you’re actually seeing the best Australia has to offer?
Luckily, TripAdvisor has announced the winners of its annual Experiences Trend Index and revealed the top experiences in Australia for 2019.
A guided jet ski tour through the Whitsundays claimed the top spot, followed by a best of Melbourne bike tour and Hervey Bay whale watching cruise. Meanwhile, a segway tour of Perth and a waterfalls tour in Queensland’s Atherton Tablelands rounded out the top five.

Meanwhile, a Sydney beer and brewery tour and two-day camping and surfing Great Ocean Road trip from Melbourne also made the top 10.
