You can take in all the highlights of Canberra on this special trip, with visits to the beautiful Cockington Green and the National Arboretum, and be educated with tours of Parliament House and the Australian War Memorial.

On the way back to Sydney you’ll get to take the scenic route to explore the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains. Stretching over one million acres, it’s a mix of rainforest, pristine bushland and dramatic cliffs. You’ll see the Three Sisters and spend time in the quaint mountainside village of Leura.

Take flight on a small-group air safari

You’ve likely traversed a lot of Australia by land with a caravan in tow, and perhaps even by sea on a cruise around the coast, but have you considered a flying adventure? You can enjoy an exciting adventure to the Queensland outback and Great Barrier Reef on an air safari.

That’s right, you could explore the best of Queensland’s backyard on a three-day, two-night holiday departing from the Gold Coast, and flying west over 2,000 kilometres throughout the outback to Charleville, Birdsville and Longreach. On this incredible holiday you can enjoy a traditional Aussie pub meal at the iconic Birdsville Hotel, explore the wide collection of aircraft at the Qantas Founders Museum, and finally swap your boots for reef shoes and discover the southern Great Barrier Reef at the beautiful Lady Elliot Island.

If you want, you can extend your holiday and spend a night on Lady Elliot Island (additional charge applies). It’s certainly worth the extra dollars, with opportunities to see manta rays and turtles which call the island home.

Relax on a Murray River cruise

Sure, adventurous holidays are great but sometimes you just need to sit back, relax and let those worries disappear. And what better way to do just that, than with a cruise down the Murray River? Travel at 60 has exclusive deals on offer, with savings of up to 25 per cent on trips aboard the iconic PS Murray Princess for this year.

You could enjoy a three, four or seven night cruise along the river in South Australia. Each trip is a little different depending on how long you spend aboard the Murray Princess, but all trips depart from the small town of Mannum and venture down the river to other nearby townships.

The Murray Princess itself is spectacular. It’s the largest inland paddle-wheeler in the southern hemisphere and caters for just 120 passengers. Inside, the lounge features a majestic view of the paddlewheel in action and the upper and lower areas are accessed by the classic brass and mahogany style spiral staircase.

Travel on Australia’s newest rail journey

The Ghan and the Indian Pacific are perhaps the most well-known train journeys in the Land Down Under. But, have you heard of the Great Southern? Each year it ventures down the east coast from Brisbane to Adelaide (or vice versa), winding its way through the beachside town of Coffs Harbour, the Grampians and Canberra.
