Thomas Markle Jr’s warning for Harry about Meghan in Aussie ‘Big Brother’ ad

Australia’s Big Brother VIP is on the horizon, with Channel 7 unveiling the lineup of celebs in a sneak-peek preview on Sunday. While the star-studded cast raised a few eyebrows, it was the half-brother of Meghan Markle who took centre stage in the trailer, slamming his sister and setting tongues wagging about what’s in store for the show.

The Duchess of Sussex has previously spoken about her fractured relationship with her family including half brother Thomas, who she didn’t invite to her wedding and hasn’t seen for seven years. Since joining the royal family Markle’s father Thomas, half-sister Samantha Grant and half-brother Thomas Jr have all made repeated attacks towards her in the media, only adding further fuel to their already fiery relationships.

Thomas Markle Jr appeared in the 90-second teaser for the new Big Brother, which is set to air later this year, and revealed the dire warning he gave to Prince Harry about his sister. The latest comments have set an interesting precedent for what to expect, with the 55-year-old window fitter from Oregon revealing he’d warned Prince Harry about his sister.

“I’m Meghan Markle’s brother, I’m the biggest brother of them all,” he said.

“I told Prince Harry, I think she’s going to ruin your life. She’s very shallow.”

It’s not the first time Thomas Markle Jr has called his sister “shallow”, previously begging Harry to call off the wedding in a letter just weeks before the couple’s nuptials. Thomas Markle Jr branded his 36-year-old actress sister a “jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage” in the shocking letter, published by InTouch magazine.

“As more time passes to your royal wedding, it became very clear that this is the biggest mistake in royal wedding history,” the letter read. “Meghan Markle is obviously not the right woman for you.

“I’m confused why you don’t see the real Meghan that the whole world now sees. Meghan’s attempt to act the part of a princess like a below C average Hollywood actress is getting old.”

Thomas Markle Jr’s placement in the Australian Big Brother VIP comes just five months after Meghan opened up about her relationship with her family during the explosive tell-all with Oprah Winfrey in March, revealing she hadn’t distanced herself from the Markle’s.

“I don’t feel comfortable talking about people that I really don’t know. I grew up as an only child, which everyone who grew up around me knows, and I wished I had siblings. I would have loved to have had siblings,” she said.

“I mean, the last time I saw (Samantha) must have been at least 18, 19 years ago. And before that, ten years before that.”

Thomas Markle Jr joins a host of fellow celebrities on Big Brother VIP, including Caitlyn Jenner, MAFS star Jessika Power, Australian Survivor star Luke Toki and former Trump advisor Omarosa Manigault Newman.

The air date for the show is yet to be announced, but is expected for later this year.
