The price of petrol wasn’t the only thing leaving customers shocked at a Sydney BP after a customer walked in to pay for his petrol in nothing more than a pair of thongs and sunglasses.

CCTV footage of the strange incident captured the naked man believed to be in his mid-50s to early 60s stroll into the Edgecliff BP, pay for his petrol and casually leave, as if nothing was out of the ordinary.

Police are reportedly aware of the incident although the reason behind the man’s nude petrol run remains unsolved.

Photos of the incident were posted to social media by the manager for radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands, Bruno Bouchet.

“Real life version of that dream you have when you’re completely starkers in public,” he captioned one photo.

Commentators were quick to share their bewilderment over the incident as well as have a giggle at the man’s bravery.

“Pretty sure he’s got his mask on though right? So that’s totally ok! This is gold! Happy Saturday old mate!! Good on you!”

“You know what I admire that kind of courage.”

“Though paying $2.00 a litre is a big enough shock. Wonder where he keeps credit card.”

“Took a wrong turn for the nudist beach.”

“The best way to encourage social distancing.”

Bouchet told the Daily Mail that the worker behind the counter was more concerned that the man wasn’t wearing a mask.

“He thought it was crazy like anyone else,” he said.

“But there was no conversation about what was happening.

“He was concerned he wasn’t wearing a mask, but he was shocked and wanted to be professional, so didn’t say anything.”
