Amid the news that Prince Philip, who’s been in hospital for the past two weeks, is being transferred to a second London hospital, the British royal family has attempted to lighten the mood with the release of a funny video of the Queen on their official Instagram account.

The 94-year-old monarch appeared on a Zoom call to Australia last week for the unveiling of the new life-sized bronze statue of HRM, which has been installed at Government House in Adelaide, South Australia. The statue is only the third one of Queen Elizabeth II in Australia.

Speaking from Windsor Castle, the Queen joked how Australians who catch sight of it might be alarmed to think she has paid a surprise visit. “I would think possibly it might be quite alarming to suddenly see it out of the window,” the Queen said to the sculptor Robert Hannaford, South Australian Governor Hieu Van Le and SA Premier Steven Marshall. “You’d think, ‘gracious, has she arrived here unexpectedly!’.”

The news of the statue comes the same day it was revealed the Queen’s husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, 99, has been moved to a different hospital in London. Prince Philip was admitted to London’s King Edward VII Hospital on Tuesday, February 16, as a precaution after feeling unwell. He’s now been transferred to St Bartholomew’s Hospital for further treatment for an infection and a pre-existing heart condition.

The Duke of Edinburgh was today transferred from King Edward VII’s Hospital to St Bartholomew’s Hospital, where doctors will continue to treat him for an infection as well as undertake testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Monday, news.com.au reports. “The Duke remains comfortable and is responding to treatment but is expected to remain in hospital until at least the end of the week.”

It comes just a week after the Queen’s youngest son Prince Edward commented on his father’s health. Edward told Sky News last Tuesday that his father has improved. “I did speak to him the other day, so he’s a lot better thank you very much indeed, and he’s looking forward to getting out, which is the most positive thing,” Prince Edward, 56, said at the time. “So we keep our fingers crossed.”
