Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are expecting their first child together. The Queen’s granddaughter announced the exciting news via the royal family’s official Instagram account on Wednesday.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year,” the statement read, alongside a beautiful pic of Beatrice and Edo from their wedding day last year.
“The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
Photos have already emerged of the pregnant princess enjoying a stroll through London with Edoardo, her growing bump visible under a bright prink dress and cropped black jacket.

Beatrice married Edoardo on the grounds of Windsor Castle in July, 2020. The pair had originally planned to marry on May 29 in the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace, but the ceremony was postponed because of the Covid-19 restrictions. Beatrice is already a step-mum to Edoardo’s five-year-old son Christopher Woolf, from his relationship with American architect Dara Huang.
It seems like it’s going to be quite the busy year for the royal family, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex expecting their second child next month.
The announcement comes just two months after Beatrice’s cousin Zara Tindall welcomed another addition to her little family, Lucas Philip Tindall. Lucas’ middle name is a tribute to his late great-grandfather Prince Philip, who recently passed away after a lengthy stay in hospital.
