More than a few eyebrows were raised earlier this week after Princess Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank was pictured partying on a yacht in Capri with three models, one of whom was topless.

However, one of the models has now spoken out about the controversial ordeal, apologising to the tequila brand ambassador and his family. Model Erica Pelosini confirmed to the MailOnline on Wednesday that she was one of the women photographed on the yacht, in particular the one with no bikini top on.

The model went on to explain why she was topless, telling the MailOnline: “I usually never go topless, but my bikini got wet and I decided to take it off. I know it does not look right for Jack and his family. I felt very bad for them when I saw the images of him surrounded by three women because his wife was not there.

The 35-year-old Italian model added: “It led people to make improper suggestions and jump to conclusions and it’s very hurtful that people are thinking this. I’m very sorry if I caused any embarrassment to Princess Eugenie and Jack. It wasn’t appropriate for me to be topless.”

Several photos from the day’s events have been circulating on social media for some days now. In one picture, Jack can be seen smiling from ear-to-ear while enjoying a swim with one of the bikini-clad girls, another shows him posing for a photo. However, one of the most controversial photos is of the Italian model sporting no bikini top while Jack dries off in the corner.

Meanwhile, Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson has since come to her son-in-law’s defence, calling him “a man of integrity” during an appearance on The One Show on Monday. Fergie was on the talk show to promote her new book, Her Heart for a Compass.

“He’s just one of my most favourite people,” she said. “I call him James Bond, actually. He’s just a superhero in my book, and he’s a great father, a fabulous husband, and he’s never at front of house, he always likes to be at the back.”

She went on to say that Jack was simply “doing his job” as a brand ambassador for Casamigos, the tequila company founded by George Clooney and Rande Gerber.

Jack and Eugenie tied the knot in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday, October 12, 2018. More than two years later the pair welcomed their first child together, with baby August Philip Hawke Brooksbank coming into the world on February 9 this year.
