Prince Harry and Meghan have kept their son Archie out of the spotlight for much of his short life to date so royal fans were thrilled when they heard a snippet of the adorable toddler speaking for the first time on the couple’s new podcast this week.
Earlier this month news broke that the couple had signed a deal with Spotify, a music streaming app, to produce and host podcasts as part of their own audio production company called Archewell Audio. And they didn’t wait long to share their first episode, enlisting the help of famous friends including Elton John and James Corden to capture audiences around the globe.
But, it was little Archie who really stole the show – despite his appearance only being very short and at the end of the episode. After a chat with the celebrities the couple could be heard moving around in the background before Meghan eventually asked her son “is it fun?”

Little Archie then piped up and replied in the cutest voice “fun!”, followed by “Happy New Year” – with a little help and encouragement from his parents. Of course Archie’s appearance blew up the internet and led to many fans questioning what kind of accent he has, and the majority said he sounds American.
“My family is at war! Mom [sic] says Archie sounds British… That’s a lie! Archie clearly has an American accent,”@PaigeMASTERS5 wrote on Twitter.
While @brenbrenchie said: “Okay, king Archie is a genius (we already knew that), he has an American accent (as expected), he is Harry 2.0 (this is disputed among experts). But that laugh, that mischievous chuckle? All Harry!”
And @JoDivaRunner added: “Very uplifting episode! It gave me hope for 2021 and I loved hearing Archie’s sweet voice and his American accent!”
However, some did disagree claiming he has a Canadian, a British or even a blended accent.
“Archie’s little British accent and giggle. Harry’s laugh. The joy and pride in Meghan’s voice. My heart!” @lsukelly_ wrote on Twitter. While @FebWriter said: “It’s the way Harry, Meghan and Archie all sound so happy. And Archie’s very British accent on ‘new’ making his mom [sic] and dad laugh, and then he laughs. They deserve this joy. Good for them!”
