Two popular almond milk products sold nationwide are being urgently recalled due to potential microbial contamination.
The NSW Food Authority issued the recall notice on Wednesday morning and urged anyone who has purchased the products to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
The 1-litre products in question, both produced by Freedom Foods, are MILKLAB Almond Milk and Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Chocolate Almond Milk.
The former is sold across Australia in coffee shops and at food service outlets, while the latter is sold as Coles stores in NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC and WA, as well as Woolies stories in NSW, QLD, VIC and WA.
The MILKLAB products being recalled have best before dates of June 18, 2021, July 1, 2021, July 20 2021, July 29 2021 and August 6, 2021. While the potentially contaminated Blue Diamond milk has a best before date of April 27, 2021.
Bacteria pseudomonas are found widely in the environment, such as in soil, water, and plants, and food products with microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed.
NSW Food Authority advises that anyone who has consumed the milk and is concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
