Sharon Stone has blamed non-mask wearers for her sister’s coronavirus diagnosis in a scathing Instagram post. Taking to social media on Monday the American actress explained her younger sister Kelly, who already has lupus (a chronic autoimmune disease), has now tested positive for Covid-19.

“One of you non-mask wearers did this,” Sharon wrote, alongside several photographs of her sister’s hospital room. “She does not have an immune system. The only place she went to was the pharmacy.”

She continued: “There is no testing in her county unless you are symptomatic and then it’s [a] five-day wait for results. Can YOU FACE THIS ROOM ALONE? Wear a mask! For yourself and others. Please.”

In another Instagram post, the actress said her sister’s husband is also fighting for his life after contracting the virus.

“My grandmother died of Covid-19 and my godmother died of Covid-19,” Sharon said. “My sister and her husband are fighting for their lives and my sister is not doing well.”

She also reposted a photo of Kelly and her husband and re-shared what her sister wrote: “This is us. March 13. Drove to our paradise in Montana. We thought Covid-19 wouldn’t and couldn’t find us. No shopping, no parties, barely saw a human. Now fighting for a breath. You don’t want Covid-19.”

Many people have since taken to social media to comment on Sharon’s post, with many wishing her sister and brother-in-law a speedy recovery.

“Praying for your sister,” one wrote. “Here for you. Sending all my love and light.” While another added: “Sending love and healing thoughts to your sweet sister. It’s maddening.” And a third wrote: “My prayers go up for you and your family Sharon.”

However, others criticised the actress for blaming non-mask wearers, with one saying: “Masks do not work, so disappointed in you. Fast recovery to your sister.”

Another wrote: “It’s unfair to say that one of the non-mask wearers did it. She got it. Like many other people. Whatever.” And a third commented: “How do you know it’s the fault of a non-mask wearer? Maybe she picked it up off a shopping cart?”
