It’s almost that time of year again where celebrities throw on their best frocks and head to the racecourse to celebrate the nation’s biggest race of the year. And with Melbourne Cup edging closer, some celebrities are giving us a taste of what’s to come by showing off their pre-race celebration outfits.
This year, TV veteran Lisa Wilkinson led the pack for the Melbourne Cup Carnival Sydney Launch as she arrived in a gorgeous red and black gown that was topped off with a black fascinator. The dress was a saucy cheetah print that went perfectly with her bold lip colour.
The conservative dress was not only high-necked but also long-sleeved and The Project star paired it with a pair of closed-toe black heels. The journalist-turned-presenter finished her look off with a gold clutch and some stunning gold drop earrings.
Angela Bishop also pulled off a fantastically bold outfit for the event showing up in a bright pink floral dress that was held together at the front with a matching belt. Bishop stood alongside her fellow Studio 10 hosts Narelda Jacobs and Tristan MacManus, who is the most recent addition to the daytime talk show after a controversial mass-dumping earlier this year.
Rather than going with the traditional fascinator, Bishop decided to go down a more unique path. Her headpiece involved several individual flowers coming together to make a delicate crown which sat on top of her perfect blonde locks.
Meanwhile, Karl Stefanovic’s wife Jasmine Stefanovic (nee Yarbrough) looked absolutely fantastic in a double-breasted pink pant suit complete with wide legged pants and a casual rolled up sleeve. The lighter colour scheme worked perfectly for the new mother with a delicate white heel that tied it all together.
But the real eye catcher of the outfit was Stefanovic’s unusual fascinator as she donned a large bow in a matching cream colour that drooped down to cover her hair. It was then completed with a traditional face net that also matched her cream clutch.
The Melbourne Cup races will go ahead this year at Victoria’s Flemington racecourse despite restrictions still being in place across the state. However, there will be no crowds across the four day festival according to the Victoria Race Club.
