“This cancer thing is bringing on feelings of preciousness, and gratitude, and good old fashion love, and lots of it, big time,” Jeff wrote on his website. “I’m feeling so much of it comin’ my way, and man, I appreciate it. It’s contagious, all this love, like some kind of positive virus
“I want to acknowledge and thank you guys for reaching out during this time. It feels good, getting all the well wishes and love.”
Many fans have since jumped on his Twitter post to wish him well, with one writing: “I wish you well Jeff. As it happens, I too am fighting Lymphoma as we speak. Get well, stay well.”
Another added: “Sending more love your way.” While a third wrote: “Not many can pull off a look like that. Get well soon.”
It comes just one week after the actor revealed he has been diagnosed with cancer. The 70-year-old shared the shocking news on social media on Monday (local time) and revealed he was beginning treatment for the “serious disease”.
Referencing his Big Lebowksi character, he wrote on Twitter: “As the Dude would say.. New S**T has come to light. I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma.”
“Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good. I’m starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery,” Bridges added. “I’m profoundly grateful for the love and support from my family and friends. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes.”
He then finished by calling on his followers to vote in the upcoming US election, adding: “And, while I have you, please remember to go vote. Because we are all in this together.”
