Tony Abbott became a granddad for the first time just two weeks ago, and now his daughter has shared a selection of sweet snaps of her new son and our hearts are melting!
Frances Loch and her husband of three years Sam welcomed baby Ernest in Portland, Oregon on July 11, and while Tony may not have been able to meet his grandson just yet, we’re sure he’s loving all the pictures.
The 29-year-old mum and fitness trainer — who now lives in the US with Sam, a former Olympic rower — shared the new pictures of Ernest on her Instagram over the last week, showing off her son’s range of adorable facial expressions.

The latest image shows Frances cuddling and kissing Ernest, however her son seems less than impressed! She wrote alongside the photo, “This guy…” with several laughing emojis.
The next series of pictures were shared on Saturday and show more of the young lad’s hilarious expressions. From happy and concerned, to possibly pooping, Frances captioned the series of four pictures the “Expressions of Ernest”.

The sweet photos already have hundreds of comments, with users saying he was already full of personality.
“So much personality in the little guy already,” one commented.
“Oh, my word. I want to EAT HIM!!!” another joked
While another said he seemed like an “old soul”, writing, “He’s so cute. He looks like an old soul in a babies body. So sweet.”
The first-time mum opened up about the birth experience on the social media platform one week on, saying it was “intense and incredible”.
“Every part that was difficult and uncomfortable was forgotten in the next moment and 100 times worth it because it was bringing him closer to us,” she wrote. “I used my breath and all my strength. I trusted my body, my baby and my team (My ride or die @samloch and our amazing doula Kim). Not only was this beautiful nine pounder born, but also a mother, father and family.
“Ernest Loch, we are so in love with you. Here’s to the rest of our lives together bubba.”

Frances and Sam made headlines early on in their relationship when they announced their engagement after just two weeks of knowing each other. Frances revealed the news on her Instagram at the time by posting a sweet series of photo-booth-style snaps of the pair kissing and cuddling alongside the excited caption: “HEY FEYONCÉ. Two weeks was all it took to know that forever with you was a mighty fine idea.”
The pair made it official three months later in Sydney in a civil ceremony, before tying the knot again a few months later in front of close family and friends.
