As half of one of Hollywood’s most loved couples, Rita Wilson is no stranger to strutting her stuff on the red carpet and the actress turned songstress looked incredible on Sunday as she joined husband Tom Hanks at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The 63-year-old singer-songwriter was the epitome of elegance as she posed for photographs on the silver carpet at last night’s star-studded bash alongside her husband of 31-years, who was up for an award for his recent role as American TV star Mr Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, but sadly lost out to Brad Pitt.

Rita looked sensational for the event in a figure-hugging velvet gown in a seductive shade of deep red. The Sleepless in Seattle star paired the show-stopping frock, which featured a draped neckline that fastened in a statement knot on her right shoulder.

She paired the glamorous gown with a brightly patterned red and white clutch bag and wore a diamond neckline and matching earrings, while her hair was swept over one shoulder in soft Hollywood curls that perfectly complimented her sophisticated choice of outfit. Meanwhile the Castaway star looked dapper in a navy blue suit and matching tie.

Rita wasn’t the only leading lady to make a dramatic appearance on the silver carpet on Sunday though, as Australian beauty Nicole Kidman ensure all eyes were on her as she stepped out in a dazzling sequinned gown that fell to the floor in soft ruffles.

The 52-year-old looked incredible as she attended the event solo – while husband Keith Urban continues his current tour – in the navy dress which featured a sequinned design and showed off her toned legs thanks to a thigh-high split which ran up the front of the dress.

Nicole – who sadly lost out on the award for ‘Outstanding performance by a female actress in a supporting role’ to her Laura Dern (Marriage Story) – added some extra pizazz to her look with a pair of jewelled black and silver sandals and statement earrings.

Sequins seemed to be a popular choice for the event however, as British bombshells Jane Seymour and Catherine Zeta-Jones both opted for sparkling silver numbers for the awards bash. Catherine, who was joined by her husband Michael Douglas, looked ravishing in a figure-hugging silver gown which featured not only a plunging neckline, but a sexy thigh-high split that ran straight up the middle of the frock.

The Mask of Zorro star stuck with the silver theme when it came to her accessories too with a pair of dangling silver earrings and a pair of metallic heeled sandals, while Michael looked smart in a classic black tuxedo, complete with a bowtie and pocket square.

Jane Seymour also opted for an entirely silver look for the event, as the Bond girl smouldered in a sequin-covered slip dress with a cowl neckline, which hugged her figure tightly before falling straight to the floor.

The 68-year-old wore her long locks loose in glamorous curls and added some extra sparkle to her ensemble with a number of diamond rings and a chunky bracelet. And she set pulses racing on the night as she admitted to the Daily Mail that the secret to her show-stopping look was to wear “no underwear”.
