This is a great recipe for when you’ve got a hankering for something sweet. You can make this chocolate mug cake in the microwave in about 5 minutes.
Serves 2 (if you’re into sharing).
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp self-raising flour
- 4 tbsp caster sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder, plus extra for dusting
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp full cream milk
- 3 tbsp sunflower oil
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 40g dark chocolate, roughly chopped
- Pinch sea salt flakes
Method
- Measure self-raising flour, caster sugar and cocoa powder into a large mug, and mix. Crack in the egg, pour in the milk, oil and vanilla extract and whisk with a fork until no lumps of flour remain and you have a smooth cake batter.
- Add the dark chocolate and mix briefly again, then the top with sea salt flakes. Put into the middle of your microwave oven and cook on high for 1 1/2-2 minutes or until firm to the touch.
- Dust with a little cocoa powder to serve.
