When it comes to cleaning grout from tiled floors, it’s no secret the kitchen is the most challenging to clean. Which makes total sense, since we tend to spend a great deal of time in the kitchen prepping and cooking meals, so it’s no surprise the grout builds up a lot more over time.

If this is the case for you, we’ve got some good news as a clever mum has sent the Internet into a frenzy after she revealed her hack for cleaning grout on tiled floors. The woman shared her handy tip to the ‘Aldi Mums’ Facebook group where it got the big thumbs up from fellow parents.

The mum explained she used the German retailer’s Power Force Protect ‘N Clean disinfectant, which retails for $2.29. She poured the disinfectant with equal parts of water in a spray bottle and applied the mixture to the grout and wiped over with an old tea towel — voila!

“This stuff is unreal,” she captioned the post alongside an image and a video demonstrating how to perform the task. “No elbow grease needed.”

The group’s other followers praised the mum for the simple hack, with one person commenting: “That is pretty amazing.” Another added: “Wow, this looks so good. I am going to get some to clean my tiles. Thank you.” A third wrote: “Thanks for the tip.” While another group user suggested using a toothbrush and a bit of Jif to get rid of the grout.

This isn’t the first grout-cleaning hack to make headlines. Earlier this year, another mum made waves on Facebook, only this time in the ‘Mums Who Cook, Clean and Organise’ Facebook group, where she revealed she uses $12 Vanish Napisan Gold Pro Stain Remover Powder to clean the grout off tiled floors.

“Not sure if this has been shared yet but with all the posts regarding long life grout cleaner while affective the fumes are so very harsh… these are results I got using Napisan Gold at a client’s house,” she wrote.

To clean the floor, Rebekka said she poured two scoops of the popular washing powder into a bucket of water and spread it over the tiles before scrubbing. Rebekka said she then rinsed the titles and mopped again with water and methylated spirits.
