Channel 7 reporter Edwina Bartholomew may have welcomed her first child, daughter Molly Matilda Christie Varcoe, just six months ago, but the popular television presenter has wasted no time in returning to work.
Edwina made her return to breakfast program Sunrise on Monday morning as her maternity leave came to an end, and viewers were delighted to see her back on the small screen. One wrote : “Lovely to see your happy face back again have missed it.”
Another said: “How lovely to see Eddie back, she’s a breath of fresh air .” While another viewer commented: “Nice to see you again Eddie also hope Molly been good for you.”

Edwina and husband Neil Varcoe welcomed their daughter in December, with the couple announcing the news on social media. “Meet Molly Matilda Christie Varcoe. Late like her Mum and tall like her Dad. Molly ‘cause we like it,” Edwina wrote on Instagram.
Edwina also revealed why they had chosen their daughter’s middle names, adding: “Matilda for Neil’s Great Grandmother. Christie was my Grandmother’s maiden name and my middle name too. We are exhausted and elated. @neilwrites still in shock. Thank you for all the well wishes. We all feel very loved xxx”
The adorable bub also made her photoshoot debut earlier this year as she joined her mother on the cover of The Australian Women’s Weekly. Edwina and gorgeous Molly were the stars of May’s issue of the magazine and the mother-daughter duo featured in a number of stunning images which were taken at the family’s Warramba Farm in New South Wales’ Capetree Valley.
A selection of photographs from the shoot were shared on social media by Edwina and the publication, which the 36-year-old journalist said she will “treasure forever”.

Our family will treasure these photos forever @womensweeklymag. ⠀ Before social distancing and isolation became our new normal, the wonderful AWW crew descended on @warramba for a glorious few days of ball gowns and babies, with a couple of cows and a cattle dog thrown in. ⠀ ⠀ This is the result. A precious moment in our lives captured by @alanalandsberryphoto , styled by @jamelaejjamaistylist with beautiful words from @tiffdunk. ⠀ I hope you get a chance between home schooling/iso baking/stress eating/hand sanitising to sit down with a cup of tea and soak up the simple joys of a new baby. ⠀ ⠀ The May issue is out tomorrow. I’ll be catching up with my @sunriseon7 pals around 730 tomorrow too to check in. See you then xx
