When a woman reaches menopause everything changes. Aside from the obvious changes, like the inability to have more children, women can experience an array of challenging symptoms such as hot flushes, vaginal dryness and increased aches and pains during menopause, some of which can last for years.
For the majority of women, menopause occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, but it can last for much longer – sometimes more than 10 years. In fact, a Swedish study published in the Climacteric Journal found that 16 per cent of 85-year-olds surveyed were still experiencing hot flushes. Meanwhile, another study revealed that 40 per cent of women aged between 60 and 65 experience hot flushes.
This symptom in particular can be quite difficult to deal with. All of a sudden, without warning, you feel a sensation of hotness on your scalp, face, neck and even your chest area and begin to sweat. For some these hot flushes occur at night, waking you from a deep slumber and leaving you drenched in sweat and exhausted the following day.
This overwhelming tiredness can lead to increased irritability and you might find yourself needing an afternoon nap to get you through to bedtime again. With all this in mind, it’s no surprise many women also experience mild anxiety during menopause as they battle through the rollercoaster of emotions and physical changes.
As a woman you’ve probably been told at least once that you just have to live with these draining and sometimes painful symptoms, that it’s just a part of life and what females have to go through. But, that’s not true. There are supplements and other methods out there to help make this change a little less uncomfortable and more manageable.
Promensil is one option. It’s described as a dietary supplement based on red clover isoflavones, which are specifically developed to support good health during menopause. What is this special red clover you ask? Well, it’s a leaf or flower head commonly seen growing in fields across the United Kingdom. There’s a number of products on the market that include this special ingredient, but there are some that contain less than the required 40mg needed to make isoflavones effective.
Promensil on the other hand extracts isoflavones from whole red clover plants that are harvested just before they blossom. That, and other techniques used to create the supplement, ensures that every tablet supplies the minimum 40mg level that is so important to help improve a woman’s health at this stage of life.
Primarily, Promensil may provide temporary relief from hot flushes, night sweats and mild anxiety. But it could also help relieve other symptoms of menopause as well, and happy customers have raved about its effects.
“I started taking Promensil six weeks ago, I take two a day,” one person wrote on Product Review. “Before taking them I was having hot flushes day and night. It was so bad I couldn’t get a decent sleep and was having to get up and shower in the middle of the night. About three weeks after I started taking them I noticed that I was having fewer hot flushes. After six weeks they are completely gone. These pills have literally changed my life. I haven’t noticed any adverse side effects at this stage and am hoping that doesn’t change.”
While another wrote: “Over the past few years I have tried many menopause relief tablets, most of them unfortunately didn’t seem to work for me. I kept coming back to Promensil (double strength). I have been taking only the Promensil Double Strength for at least 15 months now and found that my hot flushes, night sweats, moodiness had all but disappeared. I thought I’d give myself a break for a while. Well, within a week my hot flushes and night sweats were back with a vengeance and I found myself irritable and moody all the time. I have just started back again on them and am hoping that in the next week or so things should settle down.”
And a third said: “I have been taking one double strength tablet since April and am now symptom free. Hadn’t slept well for months due to hot flushes prior to this. Would recommend.”
