Celine Dion was asking if the show must go on, following the Las Vegas shooting.

Celine Dion has been a main-stay on the stage is Las Vegas since 2003. Originally set for a three-year stint for her A New Day show, it ended up going for five. She then went back with a new show Celine, which is running until 2019. When husband René Angélil was diagnosed with throat cancer she cancelled her shows for several months, and again for a month when he died.

The 49-year-old broke down while on stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace overnight following the shooting that claimed the lives of 59 people on Sunday. Over 500 people were injured.

Dion gave an emotional speech during her show, questioning whether it was too soon to be performing.

“I hope that you’re doing OK…before we start the show, I need to talk to your for a moment..,” Dion said to the audience. “I never start the show like this but tonight is very different. For me it’s can I still do my show?” Should I still do my show only two days after the nightmare?”

Luckily for those who were attending, she was able to compose herself and finish the show.

She then told the silent crowd that proceeds from the show that night would go the families of those affected by the attack.
