At some point, this many high scores and gold medals gets ridiculous. Is there something this wine hasn’t won? It’s well deserved of course, but my goodness! This shiraz is a blend of fruit from three vineyards, each parcel having been aged separately in either American or French oak. The final barrel selection dictated the blend and resulted in a wine of stunning complexity exhibiting notes of coffee, almonds and blackberries. There’s some toastiness from the oak along with the classic Clare shiraz chocolate hints. The tannins fit right in, lifting the finish rather than overpowering it. We wouldn’t be surprised if the neck of the bottle isn’t a bit slumped over from holding up all that bling.
