Walk through the years of fashion with Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker is the darling of fashion.

If you are going to listen to the history of fashion over the years, who else would you want to listen to.

Sarah Jessica Parker has long been considered a fashionista, thanks mostly to her portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw in the popular Sex and the City series.

Sarah, pictured below with husband Matthew Broderick at the opening of his new play new Broadway play Evening at The Talk House, held in New York City last month, has said the idea of a third movie in the series has not been decided, but the answer has never been a ‘no’.

To celebrate Vogue’s 125th year, Sarah narrates fashion over the decades accompanying a series of published items and photographs reminiscent of the various decades.

Here she describes 20’s fashion as people craving light after the end of the first world war.

Tanning became a trend and the bob ruled with the streamlined silhouettes.

The 40’s narration describes the fashion of the wartime era as being fewer, simpler, better.
The changing spotlight of women going from working to being ‘back on the pedestal’ when the war ended.

The 50’s was all about silhouettes, and shapes, sculptured with elaborate underpinnings.

Body image and diet became a focus as waistlines grew thinner.

Do these take you back to your favourite era of fashion?
