Baby powder can do a lot more than soothe nappy rash.

From keeping your clothes smelling fresh to loosening your playing cards, baby powder is a powerhouse product. And a bottle of fresh-smelling baby powder is relatively inexpensive, which makes it budget friendly.

Incorporate a touch of baby powder in your everyday life – you really will be amazed!

Use as a dry shampoo

Baby powder is an inexpensive dry shampoo. Simply sprinkle some powder on your palms or fingers and rub into your scalp to absorb the oil that can make your hair look limp or greasy. The powder will keep your hair looking fresh, without having to wash it daily. Luckily, once you rub it in, there is no trace of the powder.

Remove grease splatters

The next time you get a grease stain on your clothing or carpet, sprinkle with baby powder. The powder will absorb the oil and refresh the fabric without leaving a nasty stain. Rub the powder in well and brush off any excess. Repeat until the stain is gone.

No more squeaks

There is nothing worse than squeaky floorboards, especially in the early hours of the morning. If you have a squeaky floorboard, sprinkle a bit of baby powder between the boards and sweep into the gaps. It will instantly stop the squeaking and creaking.

Repel ants

With summer upon us, there may be a few more ants hanging around. Baby powder works as a repellant for ants and many other bug-like pests. Simply sprinkle a line around doors and windows. Ants don’t like the smell of baby powder, so there’s a good chance you’ll be safe from those little pests.

Loosen up playing cards

Have you bought a new deck of playing cards recently? If so, place them in a plastic bag along with a few shakes of baby powder. Seal the bag and shake well a few times to evenly distribute the powder. Once you remove the cards, shake off any excess powder. Your cards will no longer stick and will be a lot easier to handle.

Untangle jewellery

Untangling a delicate piece of jewellery can take forever. The next time you get a tangle, try sprinkling a little bit of baby powder on the chain. Why? The powder will loosen the knot just a touch, making it much easier to untangle.

What do you use baby powder for? Have you tried any of these before?
