This simple trick can really save your neck

Are you finding yourself looking down at your devices a lot?

As we age, we expect life to get a little bit uncomfortable. We blow all of those niggling little aches and pains off as just a normal part of the ageing process, and while some are, for sure, other’s aren’t normal, and they can be prevented.

Joins can get stiff and achey, especially first thing in the morning or when you’ve been inactive for long periods of time. And how many of your over-60 friends don’t have a bad knee, back, neck, or a hip that gives them grief?

All of those modern conveniences we take for granted help us out and prevent us having to do hard labour, especially in the later years. No longer do we need to hand wring our laundry, nor wash our dishes, and there are even robots you can get that vacuum and mop while you kick up your feet. A lot of our home chores have become automated.

There is one piece of modern technology that might just be causing you more pain, especially when it comes to your neck. In fact, you’re probably reading this article on it!

Yes, smartphones and tablets are wonderful, but “tech neck” is a real thing, and you’ve probably experienced the painful pinch in the back of your neck when you’ve been scrolling for too long.

The solution is simple. When you’re using your smartphone or tablet, try to remember to bring it up to your eye level, rather than looking down at it. You’ve save yourself some serious pain, and a visit to the physio!
