It’s a look that has won the Duchess of Sussex high praise on a number of occasions, and it seems that Richard Wilkins’ girlfriend Virginia Burmeister took a leaf out of Meghan’s book when choosing her raceday outfit.
Meghan wore two elegant tuxedo dresses during her recent tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, and Virginia looked seriously chic as she stepped out wearing a white jacket-style dress with the Today show host for Derby Day.
Burmeister looked stunning in the short white frock which showed off her toned and tanned pins, while the lace-up sleeves gave the outfit an edgy feel. Sticking to a simple monochrome palette, Virginia completed the classy look with a pair of peep-toe patent black stilettos and an oversized pair of retro sunglasses.
She beamed as she posed alongside her TV personality partner at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday, with showbiz reporter Richard looking dapper in a black suit and aviator glasses.
Wilkins and his girlfriend weren’t the only famous faces to make an appearance at the event though, as former Foreign Minister Julie Bishop also enjoyed a day at the races, alongside boyfriend David Panton.
Wearing a black top hat, along with a pair of smart black cigarette trousers and a crisp white shirt which featured tails at the back, Julie proved once again that she has great style as she smiled for the cameras.
Aussie supermodel Elle MacPherson was also photographed at the races, wearing a stunning off-white trouser ensemble with a matching wide-brimmed hat.
The 54-year-old, known for her impeccable sense of style, looked sensational in the unique tunic top, which featured ruffled layers and an asymmetrical hemline. She wore the top over a pair of cigarette trousers and completed the look with a structured jacket, which she ditched in the Melbourne sun.
