If you thought that after an extravagant wedding ceremony, a lunch and evening reception that newlyweds Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank would be done celebrating their marriage, you’d be wrong. The newlyweds’ wedding celebrations continued well into the weekend, with a carnival-themed party on Saturday, where the princess revealed yet another stunning outfit.

Eugenie, who is the youngest daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, defied royal traditional in a pink biker jacket by London designer Sam Dougal for the afterparty, which was held in the grounds of her parents’ home, the Royal Lodge. The pale pink jacket featured the words ‘Mrs Brooksbank’ embroidered on the back in silver beads – a far more laid back look than her Peter Pilotto silk wedding dress.

Eugenie worked with Dougal, who belongs to the Gainsbourg fashion house, and her long-standing stylist, Sarah Price, to create the edgy look.

Sharing an image of the jacket on Instagram, he wrote: “All the love to HRH Princess Eugenie, Mrs Brooksbank and her lovely new husband Jack. I’m so so honoured to have been asked to design the bespoke look she wore for the day 2 wedding celebrations at Windsor in collaboration with her brilliant stylist @styletonic_sarahprice.”

The talented designer also revealed that the handwriting on the jacket was actually her own, which added a personal touch.

Dougal said the outfit was a reflection of the “fun and informality” of the second day if events. “The look is an exciting and unusual one for a royal wedding, and had to go with the feel of the day,” he told Harper’s Bazaar. “Much like Eugenie, the look is totally unique, and full of fun.”

While we’re yet to see a picture of Eugenie in the jacket, we can picture how stunning the princess must have looked as a sketch of the complete outfit appeared online.

The afterparty on Saturday was hosted by Princess Eugenie’s mother Sarah Ferguson and her father Prince Andrew. It featured a carnival theme, complete with a ferris wheel, merry-go-round and personalised gifts for guests.

This isn’t the first time Dougal has designed a garment for the royal though, as Eugenie wore one of his stunning creations to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, in May this year. Eugenie looked elegant in the powder blue frock, which featured a funnel neckline, as she attended the wedding, which took place at the same venue as her own.

Following Friday’s nuptial, the British royal family released a series of stunning photos taken on the couple’s wedding day at the weekend, and one showed off the princess’s glamorous reception dress.

The stunning blush gown was designed by Zac Posen, who said he was inspired by the beauty of Windsor and the surrounding countryside when designing the evening dress. According to the royal family, the choice of colour reflects the blush of an English rose, and Posen took his inspiration from the White Rose of York.

The pin-tucked plissé of the dress was cut on the bias and mixed with signature drapes. The White Rose of York is subtlety embroidered on both the shoulder and back, which held together the cape, and the silk for the gown came from Biddle Sawyer Silk.
