The Duchess of Cambridge has been treating fashion fans to a very varied wardrobe over the past week, as she tours Sweden and Norway with husband Prince William.

But she saved her most glamorous dress until last, as the couple joined King Harald and Queen Silvia of Norway for dinner at the royal palace on Thursday night. Having braved the cold just hours before to look round some of Oslo’s best sights, Catherine and William looked fresh-faced and relaxed at the stylish event.

The duchess wore a flowing ball gown in blush pink, as she linked arms with the king to be escorted inside. Wearing her hair tied back in an elegant bun, she looked almost bridal-like with a long train behind her.

With a bejewelled neckline and earrings, the mother-of-two stole the show, while William also dressed up for the occasion in a smart black tuxedo.

Catherine has divided opinion over the past few days, after debuting a very different look during her time in Sweden – more ‘glamorous hippy’ and less ‘streamlined pretty’ than her usual choices. However, she appeared to return to what she knows best as she touched down in Norway, with the subtle but glamorous gown.

Just hours before, the cuchess made a grand entrance in a huge statement fur hat and fitted blue coat as she braved the cold to visit the country’s famous Princess Ingrid Alexandra Sculpture Park. She didn’t appear affected by the snow-covered ground, and smiled happily as she greeted fans outside.

But that was just a teaser for her main outfit, and she showed it off inside as she met Norway’s King Harald and Queen Sonja. Showing off her baby bump, Catherine posed in a tight-fitting blue dress with a lace top and neat black stilletoes.

Meanwhile, at their final dinner at the Fotografiska Gallery earlier this week, Prince William gave a speech thanking the Swedish royals for their hospitality.

“When Catherine and I first planned our visit here, we knew that we wanted to come here to learn,” he said. “We wanted to find out what it was about Sweden that gave you such an enviable reputation in the world … What are, we wanted to know, are the magic Swedish ingredients?”

“Of course, on one visit, we can only touch the surface. But in the past two days, Catherine and I have experienced some of the unique mix of factors that contribute to the Swedish way of life.”

The Duke and Duchess have committed to a number of tours throughout Europe since Britain decided to leave the EU in 2016, in an effort to maintain ties between the UK and its neighbouring countries.
