Nicole Kidman perfects red carpet glamour in slinky black satin gown

She rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to red carpet fashion, and Nicole Kidman’s latest look was far from a disappointment as she slipped into a slinky black satin gown to promote her upcoming movie Boy Erased.

The 51-year-old Aussie beauty looked sensational as she posed on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival on Tuesday alongside co-star and director Joel Edgerton.

Flying solo without husband Keith Urban, Nicole was the picture of elegance as she stood for photos, showing off her beautifully draped gown, which featured an asymmetrical hemline that was expertly slashed across her hips.

Nicole paired the dress with a few simple accessories, including a pair of diamond drop earrings and a pair of skyscraper black suede heels., and wore her long blonde locks tied back in an elaborate pony tail style.

Nicole stars alongside a host of fellow Aussies in Boy Erased, including 23-year-old singer/songwriter Troye Sivan from Perth, Russell Crowe and Joel Edgerton, who also wrote, produced and directed the movie.

The film follows 19-year-old Jared, the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, who is outed to his parents, played by Kidman and Crowe, at the age of 19. The deeply religious couple then issue their son an ultimatum: attend a controversial conversion therapy program to “fix” him, or be exiled from the community.

“I want you to do well. I want you to have a great life,” Crowe’s character says in the trailer. “I love you, but we cannot see a way that you can live under this roof if you’re going to fundamentally go against the grain of our beliefs.”

Nicole has stepped out in a number of striking outfits in Canada over the past few days, including a bold pant and blazer combo that ticked all the fashion boxes. The Moulin Rouge star impressed in the stylish double-breasted blazer, which she teamed with a matching pair of skinny pants and completed the look with a stunning pair of ultra-modern boots.

Prior to her appearance in Toronto, Nicole also attended the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, USA, where she was joined by her husband Keith, 50. The couple were also joined by a number of their A-list pals, including fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman and Kidman’s Big Little Lies co-star Laura Dern.
