Judi Dench has a lot to reflect over, when thinking of her life.

She’s been getting rave reviews, and even standing ovations, for her latest movie Victoria & Abdul, and made headlines with her appearances on the red carpet.

Her latest appearance was in Toronto with Ali Fazal by her side, wearing a steel-grey dress with sheer overcoat, a look she often wears well.

The 82-year-old will get to share thoughts of her life with the rest of the world when her reflections becomes part of a new arts movie being made for BBC2.

She’s not the only one. Downton Abbey favourite, 82-year-old Maggie Smith and 83-year-old Eileen Atkins, from The Crown and Upstairs, Downstairs, will also feature. Joan Plowright, the oldest at 87, joins them too.

The actresses spent the weekend being filmed at Dame Joan’s retreat in Sussex as they talked about their experience of being women in theatre in the second half of the 20th century.

So far the movie has the worked title Nothing Like A Dame. How appropriate.

Dench is quite happy to say she’s not ready for retirement just yet. When asked the question by BBC broadcaster John Humphrys she was quick to say ‘How dare you, what is that word?’

This young at heart actress has also revealed she carries a fidget-spinner, courtesy of a gift from her grandson.
