Hugh Jackman’s wife steals the show in striking black dress at glitzy bash

They’ve been married for over two decades and it looks like there’s still plenty of love between Deborra-lee Furness and her hunky husband Hugh Jackman.

The Aussie actress, 62, and Hugh, 50, looked as close as ever as they attended Sunday’s Governors Awards in California.

Deborra-lee didn’t disappoint in the style stakes as she stepped out in a striking black gown, which featured bell sleeves. The star completed the glamorous look with black platform heels, silver dangling earrings and wore her hair tied back in an effortless style for the star-studded event.

Meanwhile, Hugh looked dapper in a blue tux with black trimming for the occasion.

Clearly her biggest fan, the X-Men star posted a photo of his wife on Instagram shortly before they arrived.

He wrote: “Off to the Governors Ball with my beauty.”

The Governors Awards saw the likes of Nicole Kidman, Harrison Ford and many other celebrities join forces on the red carpet in full glamour.

Nicole shimmered in a pink sequinned gown, which featured a sheer bodice — ensuring she fitted right in with the star-studded crowd. Paired with metallic rose-gold heels, the 51-year-old looked picture perfect for the event, her blonde locks pulled back in a messy bun.

The glamorous outing was just the latest public display of love between Hugh and Deborra-lee. Just last week Hugh paid tribute to his wife for creating charity organisation Hopeland. Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a photo of himself embracing his beloved wife. 

“So proud of Deb for creating this incredible organisation,” he wrote.

The actors met on the set of the Australian drama Corelli in 1995 and have been going strong ever since.

Earlier this year, Hugh posted a touching tribute to his wife for their 22nd wedding anniversary. Taking to Instagram, he wrote at the time: “I believe in life we need to see and truly be seen by the most important people in our lives. Deb, from day one, we had that. 22 years later… it only gets deeper. You and the kids are the greatest gift I will ever receive. I love you a gazillion times around the world.”

The Aussie hunk is well-known for his long-running role as action hero Wolverine in the X-Men film series, as well as his roles in romantic drama Australia and most recently in The Greatest Showman.
