Helen Mirren finally shows she’s just like the rest of us

While it’s fun to see celebrities all glammed up and hitting the red carpet in their finery, sometimes it’s nice to know that in their everyday lives, they look like the rest of us.

Actress Helen Mirren gave us a great example of that this week, when she attended the Colcoa French Film Festival in Los Angeles dressed in simple summer skirt, long-sleeved t-shirt and sheer scarf.

She wore only natural make-up, if any, and her only nod to her usual glamorous get-ups was a pair of striking orange, high-heeled sandals, with a small handbag also in orange.

It’s clear, though, that Mirren’s hair naturally falls into a nice style, as it didn’t look a whole lot different to when she’s had the attentions of a stylist ahead of a glamorous do, as she had recently at the premier of Great Wall in LA (below). Also, as always, the actress, who’ll turn 72 in July, kept her arms covered and her skirt below her knees.

As many style commentators have said before, Mirren doesn’t just look good for an older woman, she can give women of every age a run for their money because she knows how to dress to suit herself. As The Mirror put it, “she never lets the dresses wear her and makes the look her own”.
