You have to be a Hollywood veteran to actually look like you’re having fun on the red carpet and Goldie Hawn and Melanie Griffith showed how it’s done at the amFAR gala in the US at the weekend.
The two seasoned actresses and long-time friends, cosied up for the cameras at the event in Beverly Hills, which is held by the Foundation for AIDS Research to raise funds for support, research and education programs.
Both looked polished in black, with Melanie, 60, going for a fitted, ruched dress with sheer sleeves, and Goldie, 71, opting for her usual flowing style.
The pair clearly stuck together during the event, posing for pictures as a twosome with other stars, including actors Sean Penn. and Colton Haynes, who’s becoming well known for his turn in popular series American Horror Story.
Goldie was joined at the event by her daughter Kate Hudson, who was sporting a cropped do rather than her usual long, blonde hair, after shaving her head for a movie role.
Goldie clearly enjoyed the glam get-together so much that she posted a snap of herself and Melanie with host James Cordon.
But English comedian and presenter Cordon didn’t emerged unscathed from the event, after he made what some said were inappropriate jokes about the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal.
Actress Rose McGowan, who has accused Weinstein of raping her – he has denied all accusations of non-consensual sexual activity – blasted Cordon on Twitter, pointing out that Cordon was a friend of the mega-powerful producer, and that it was hardly a matter for laughter, given that more than 30 women have so far come forward to accuse Weinstein of assaulting them.
