Why should beauty have an age limit? One of the biggest misconceptions about ageing is that older women can no longer look sexy without being branded ‘mutton dressed as lamb’.

More older actress than ever are maintaining their position in the spotlight and speaking out for women everywhere about the need to abolish dated views on ageing.

Leading the charge is former Playboy Bunny turned fashion blogger Dorrie Jacobson, 83, who’s shedding her clothes to prove that “age is just an attitude”.

Taking to Instagram, the great-grandmother shared a rather revealing image of herself in black lingerie — and she looks amazing!

Jacobson captioned the photo: “Why am I suddenly prancing around in lingerie in my 80s? Because I want to encourage women to embrace their bodies at every age.”

She went on to say “society is obsessed with youth” and added, “I want to broaden that definition of beauty to include women of all ages. Why do we have to be young and flawless to be considered beautiful?”

Jacobson explained that women need to start “embracing their imperfections” rather than hating them.

“If I can stand here in my knickers, with a less than perfect 83 year old body….then perhaps other women will be inspired to love themselves a little bit more…flaws and all.”

Fans were quick to praise her bold move, with one Instagramer saying, “You totally rock,” while another added, “You are so gorgeous and an inspiration to a lot of women, I hope I look like you do when I get where you’re at,” and a third wrote, “Beautiful. Thank you for your words”.

In fact, Jacobson, who modelled for Playboy in the ’60s, regularly poses in her underwear as part of her effort to show that ageing doesn’t mean you should stop feeling sexy.

And Jacobson isn’t the only over-60 celebrity to bare all. Earlier this year, Jane Seymour, 67, stripped down in a shoot for Playboyand Dame Helen Mirren, 72, posed topless for Cancer Research UK’s long-running charity Give Up Clothes For Good, which raises funds for treatment and cure of childhood cancers.

Pop legend Madonna, 59 (turning 60 in August this year), isn’t scared to show some skin either. The ‘Material Girl’ singer recently uploaded a topless image to Instagram with the caption, “Sunday Bloody Sunday.”

What do you think? Are you ever too old to get your kit off? If you still go it, flaunt it, or let it go?
