Sarah Ferguson and Eugenie get in on the royal action

Sarah Ferguson and Princess Eugenie of York both are involved in the charity work, this time pictured at the Novak Djokovic Foundation Event in 2013.

Sarah Ferguson has been open about her own personal illnesses, but this week she’s spent time helping others.

While Prince William spent time this week to meet clinical patients at a local hospital, the Duchess of York was doing the same.

Joined by her 27-year-old daughter Princess Eugenie, the pair met with staff and young patients at Alder Hey Hospital on Wednesday.

The 57-year-old has been working with the Teenage Cancer Trust since 1990, opening the first specialist cancer unit, and said on this latest visit that the patients had taught her a lot of things.

“Young adults, or sufferers from teenage cancer, it was you all who taught me so much. You taught me forgiveness, you taught me kindness, you taught me never to give up, courage in facing adversity,” the duchess said, reports Hello Magazine

Eugenie also shared her thoughts on the visit, and why it was important to her. As both Eugenie and her sister Beatrice had been visiting since they turned 18 she said it was the experience, to see the amazing work being done and also to see the outlook patients had on their diagnoses, that brought her back.

On this latest occasion Beatrice, 29 was unable to attend as she is currently overseas on the US.
