There’s noisy neighbours, and then there’s raunchy and noisy neighbours, which may possibly be worse. Either way, oibne Sunshine Coast grandmother got more than she bargained for when she was walking to the beach with her granddaughter.
According to a report from the Sunshine Coast Daily in Queensland, Australia, a local resident was so repulsed by the noises she heard coming from her neighbours’ house in the afternoon, she wrote an anonymous letter pleading for them to have some respect when engaging in sexual activity during the daytime.
Warana resident Ali Cashat, who found the letter in her mailbox, posted the note online in attempt to clear her name of any wrongdoing, and had readers laughing about her reasoning.
“This is a little embarrassing, however we thought it wise to bring it to your attention,” the note dropped in Cashat’s letterbox read. “Last weekend whilst taking my granddaughter to the beach we had the misfortune of walking past your property at an unfortunate moment. It was very difficult to explain to my young granddaughter the noises coming from your bedroom at the side of your house next to the path.”
The grandmother then asked the couple to shut their window when engaging in an enthusiastic afternoon romp. “Whilst not wanting to infringe on your privacy, I think it would be best practice to close the windows to prevent a repeat performance,” the anonymous letter advised.
But Cashat claims that, in fact, said she and her partner weren’t in the country at the time of the alleged heated moment. Instead, the cries of passion belonged to a house-sitter who’d been looking after their property.
“Thank you Sunshine Coast community and to our diligent anonymous neighbour for bringing this unfortunate event to our attention,” Cashat wrote, according to the Sunshine Coast Daily. “A recent case of mistaken identity has wrongfully accused the homeowners of a very vocal ‘performance’ in their home during the daytime. Unfortunately, they were overseas at the time.”
The homeowner added the house-sitter had admitted to the “afternoon delight”, and jokined the homeowners had been married for too long to engage in such adventurous activities.
“The homeowners wish to express their sincere embarrassment over the false accusation as they’ve been married way too long to partake in such activities with such gusto before sunset,” the Queensland resident claimed.
The letter has since gone viral, making headlines in Australia and across a number of international publications.
It’s not the first time neighbours have been called out for sexual behaviour by neighbours in Australia. Last month, residents in the luxurious Sydney suburb of Bondi begged a neighbour to invest in curtains after catching him in a lewd sex act through his window.
