Princess Mary steps out in same designer as another royal

She's not the only royal who fancies Alexander McQueen's designs.

Alexander McQueen is certainly having a good day after not one, but two of his designs have been worn by two royals in as many days.

Earlier today, we reported on the Duchess of Cambridge’s Alexander McQueen dress which she wore to celebrate the Queen’s 91st birthday, attending the Trooping the Colour.

Crown Princess Mary has also stepped out in the designer’s wares — this time in one of his off the shoulder creations.

The black and ivory dress retails for more than $1,000 and featured woven stripes.

The 45-year-old princess paired the elegant ensemble with patent leather T-bar pumps by Gianvito Rossi.

She finished off her look with a simple black Sergio Rossi clutch.

The mother-of-four cut a striking figure alongside husband Prince Frederik.

The pair have been been busy the past few days hosting Japan’s Crown Prince Naruhito.

They took some time out to join the prince at a concert of traditional Japanese music in Copenhagen.

Earlier in the week, Princess Mary joined her husband again, this time to greet Prince Naruhito at the airport ahead of his six day visit to Denmark to celebrate 150 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

This time she wore an oriental-inspired floral Erdem gown which she pared with nude accessories and a fascinator in her hair.
