There are some looks that never go out of fashion, and Princess Mary of Denmark has just worked one to perfection.

The gorgeous Aussie royal was at the opening of the National Care Centre in Copenhagen – a centre that support people dealing with bereavement.

Wearing a 1950s-style full skirt with a fitted waist, Princess Mary topped the outfit with simple silky white blouse but gave it a high-fashion twist with clashing snakeskin spike heels. Her hair was shorter and slightly lighter than usual, perhaps from her summer spent boating with her husband and children.

The Princess completed the simple yet sophisticated ensemble with pearl drop earnings and a matching pearl bracelet. She looked fresh-faced with minimal make-up, despite having spent the previous evening at her nephew Prince Nikolai’s 18th birthday party, where she wore a fitted cream cocktail dress with an ombre-dyed hem.

Princess Mary gave a speech at the centre’s opening ceremony and met staff, and was given a pretty bunch of flowers for her efforts.

She’s quickly got back into the swing of royal duties after the summer holidays that saw her spend time sailing around Denmark with Prince Frederik and children Christian, Isabella, Vincent and Josephine, as well as sunning herself on the Greek island of Kos while travelling aboard a luxury yacht with her family.
