Malcolm Turnbull’s heartfelt Christmas Message has been released and in his authentic style he has stayed off politics and said thanks to the defence forces abroad.  Turnbull has shown empathy and community spirit in his message that reached out to people’s kindnesses.

“In particular, we thank the men and women of the Australian Defence Force who are serving overseas this Christmas, as well as our Police, security, emergency and firefighting services who will be keeping us safe on Christmas Day just as they do every day,” he said.

“We should also think of those less fortunate this Christmas. Poverty, loneliness, illness, the loss of loved ones – these shadows hang heavier at Christmas.”

Its a stalk contrast to Bill Shorten’s who has used his moment in the limelight to showcase a heavily edited political stance.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has used his first official Christmas message in the top job to thank those who had served and protected us throughout the year and would not be home to spend Christmas with their family and close friends.

  1. I think it is inPpropriate for this group to make biased political comments.

    • …so this group’s members aren’t allowed to have political opinions and discuss them?

    • It’s one of the interesting things about this group. You can watch fox and read Murdoch tags to learn about the Kardashians.

    • Not quite right, Never watched Kardashians, never read papers. I certainly know how majority vote by posts on this site,

    • It can be educational and interesting, I’ve learnt stuff from comments, understanding issues that don’t effect you directly is important if you are community spirited.

    • Fred Davies don’t you think it would have been fairer to have published both messages and allowed us to draw our own conclusions?

    • Joanna, I would have thought most listened to both but the question specifically related to our PM, there’s often threads that refer to the opposition. What’s wrong with asking people their thoughts of the PM’s Christmas message, they do the same for other heads of state?

  2. Talk is nothing help them in the pocket a lot have no money till the week after Xmas when they receive their pensions, how would you know Malcolm you are not in their shoes.

  3. PM Turnbull full of it…….you dont care about our homeless as your too busy looking after outsiders…………as far as our Men and Women in the Forces……… still you dont care………. as we have some from our family in the Middle East ………..and the only ones who will miss them is their Beloved Family and aunties and Uncle and friends…………all our politicians think about is their fat pensioners and all the Perks ……..

  4. There was no mention of a prosperous new year, and we know why.

  5. Talk is cheap !!! requests the public to help the disadvantaged , what the frick have we got a government for, TV news tonight >>>> Gas , Water & Rates to increase !!!!! There still has NOT been any reduction in power charges since the big boys were allowed 3 hefty increases post, 2009 bushfires !!!!
