Microwaves are very useful as they let you heat up your food quickly without having to wash all the pots you might use in reheats. You can even heat up those pre-cooked foods without spoiling their appearance, which can happen from stirring too much.

Microwave ovens are so quick and efficient because they channel heat energy directly to the molecules (tiny particles) inside food. Sometimes you just need a meal quickly… and so does your partner or grandkids and when the queue is long, even the fastest microwave can be a challenge. That’s because microwaves are generally small causing us to reheat things one by one.

We’ve all been there, one of us gets to eat while the other waits. That’s when the microwave which is supposed to bring convenience starts to annoy you. But guess what? With this ingenious life hack, you can cut heating time by half.

Cook two bowls in the microwave at once! Sound impossible? Think your microwave is too small for this smart trick?

All you need to do is place one bowl in as normal and then put a mug upside down next to it. Place your second bowl on top and watch as they cook in half the time. It’s so easy! But do be careful. This trick might not be suitable for anything that has a lot of liquid, which can spill if not done properly.

    Best ‘trick’ of all is to buy a M/W Oven with a FLAT BASE!
    Then you don’t have to do as mentioned in this article, which IMHO, is dangerous!
    Ever heard of ‘centripetal force’?
    It’s the bee turntable that takes up all the room inside the oven!

    I bought the Litton ‘Meal in One’ M/W Oven, in 1982.
    It’s a very big oven, with great internal capacity.
    Flat base, & has a normal stainless steel rack which sits halfway on its’ side hinges.
    An Entree, Main Meal, & Dessert can be cooked at the same time, hence ‘Meal in One’ name.
    Superb for entertaining! Greatest time saver, ever!

    This appliance is still used daily by me, although not as ‘full on’, as when I catered for my family!

    I did buy its’ ‘baby brother’ the next year, which was a smaller, flat based one, very suitable for smaller requirements’.
    This small oven only ‘died’ five years’ ago, & I bought a small, flat based Sharp brand to replace it.
    Restaurant kitchens’ have ALWAYS used flat-based M/W ovens, mostly Litton brand, too.

    They’re way more efficient in the cooking process, as fans’ in the oven’s ceiling distribute the entering microwaves more effectively.
    The reason for the ‘carousel plate’ is to pass the food under the ‘cone’ of microwaves entering the oven.
    Also, in a flat base, one doesn’t have to stir, or turn the food, as the ‘ceiling fans distribution system’ doesn’t require this to be done!
