Get better hair and skin while you sleep

Do you wake up with creases on your face which seem to take longer to disappear as you age?

It turns out it’s not necessarily just a part of getting older that you have to accept. If you’re sleeping on a cotton pillowcase, it is likely that this is actually contributing to those creases. Beauty experts recommend switching to a silk pillowcase if this is something that is bothering you.

Sleeping on a silk pillowcase has numerous benefits beyond just feeling nice.

Snuggling into a silky cloud at night reduces the friction that leads to hair breakage, meaning that while you’re probably still not going to wake up with a perfectly styled blowout (we can always dream though), you will likely notice a difference in the overall health of your hair in the long run, and if you have long hair, fewer tangles in the morning.

The benefits of silk don’t end at your hair though. Silk is considered anti-ageing, and there’s a good reason. Unlike cotton, silk won’t draw moisture from your skin, meaning it will stay more hydrated throughout the night. This, combined with the smoothness of the fabric will help to prevent those tell-tale pillow lines across your cheek when you wake up.

Studies have also shown silk to have antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, making it an excellent choice if you suffer from skin problems such as dermatitis or breakouts, or environmental allergies.

It doesn’t get much easier than taking care of your hair and skin while you sleep. With all of these benefits as well as comfort, it sounds like silk could be well worth a try.
