Have your dogs or cats got fleas? You don’t need to spend a lot of money to get rid of these pesky creatures, including ticks.

All you need are the following ingredients…

  • 240ml apple cider vinegar
  • 120ml warm water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp bicarb soda

Mix dry ingredients first then slowly add wet ingredients as the vinegar and bicarb soda will react slightly. Put into spray bottle and spray pets down. Be careful not to get in their eyes.

To get rid of fleas in your home, sprinkle Borax on the carpets and let sit for a few hours, then vacuum. This should kill all the fleas and ticks!

  1. Fantastic …will definitely try this….being on a pension and paying a high rent I am always looking at ways to save money… thank you….

  2. Even easier and a lot nicer smelling. Lavender and or Eucalyptus oil. Dilute in water. Spray on dog being careful to avoid eyes, anal and genital regions. Just down the spine is ideal after paring the hair. Works brilliantly. Also on pet beds and where they frequent. I use it straight, just a few drops on dog beds is enough.

  3. Will add tho, must be essential oils. Get them on ebay. Costs a bit up front but lasts for ages.

  4. This sounds interesting. Another tip if your animals eat fresh meat a quarter teaspoon of minced garlic stirred thru meat has same effect.🙉🐶

    • Garlic is in the onion family…..highly toxic to dogs. But, having said that, you are correct and I do give my dogs garlic 1/7 but no more than that.

  5. Patricia

I can’t imagine my cat being happy with this treatment. She’d be off like a rocket.
