Get those needles out! Stitch ‘n bitch clubs are sweeping the nation

Knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one…. Remember reciting that over and over? Knitting seems to be one of those activities that has gone out of fashion over time. Just like sewing, crochet, and embroidery, it’s not as popular as it once was. That’s all about to change. In recent years there has been a quiet resurgence in knitting as a new generation of women (and a few men!) picked up their needles and wool and turned to their mothers and grandmothers to ask how to get started.

Now there is a knitting revolution well and truly under way, with Stitch ‘n Bitch groups popping up all over the country. These weekly gatherings are filled with women of all ages who come together knit and chat over a cup of coffee, and help to each other out with their knitting projects.

The groups have proved to be hugely popular and are a great way to make new friends and learn new tips and tricks for your next knit. You can bring along your own needles and wool and whatever project your working on, or you can contribute to a special project that the club might be doing. Many groups are known to work on group projects for charities, meaning you get to have fun, make friends, and contribute to a great cause. And don’t worry if you’re more of a crocheter than a knitter, the groups are open to everyone!

You can easily find a local Stitch ‘n Bitch group by doing a quick search on the internet, or you could even start your own group with your friends and family.

Would you join a Stitch ‘n Bitch group? Do you enjoy knitting or crocheting?
