The leader of the Vegetarian Society just couldn’t control himself anymore. He just needed to try some pork, just to see what it tasted like.

So one summer day he told his members he was going on a vacation. He packed out of town, and headed to the nearest restaurant.

After sitting down, he ordered a roasted pig, and impatiently waited for his delicacy.

After just a few minutes, he heard someone call his name, and to his great chagrin he saw one of his fellow members walking towards him.

Just at that same moment, the waiter walked over, with a huge platter, holding a full roasted pig with an apple in its mouth.

“Isn’t that something,” says the leader after only a moment’s pause, “all I do is order an apple, and look what it comes with!”

What can I say about this “joke”? How can I make it clear that the only people who would find it funny are those who are threatened by vegetarians? If you look at the conditions in which pigs are kept and how they are killed then you would know why this is is offensive. As a vegan I can now focus on what is truly important – looking at videos of pigs playing, cuddling and having fun! Look at some, you will know what I’m talking about. That is true humor.

Having an open mind Rosemary will give more credence for vegan/vegetarian way of living than sniping. Pescatarian 30 years for ethical reasons myself I sure can see the humour in this post .
Realise in my old age – 78 – that life much more enjoyable if not taking oneself too seriously…

I can see humor, but not in this post. It is based on the notion that the vegan diet is inferior. There is enough in the world that is funny without supporting cruelty.

  2. A meat eater waddles into a Vegan Restaurant, sits down and orders his meal. Just as the waiter is bringing his food the Meat eater jumps up grabs his chest in agonizing pain and falls over dead. The Paramedics rush in and try to revive him but to no avail. The Paramedic looks up at his partner and says, too bad he didn’t eat here more often.

So true. Veganism can not only be ethical, but healthier. Thanks.
