David wasn’t much for the gym, but after celebrating his 70th, he thought that it might be a good idea to get in shape and finally shed a few pounds. He bought a gym membership, bought some gym clothes, and a fancy new water bottle that infused the water.
On the first day of his membership, he walked into the gym with confidence and immediately turned around and walked out. It looked like the body building convention was in, and that was way too intimidating for David.
The second day he walked into the gym and turned around and walked out. It looked like a super model convention was in, and David was way too self-conscious for that.
That night his wife told him that it was all in his head and that he had already wasted two days of his membership and to get in there and do his stuff. The next day, David was fired up. He walked into the gym like he owned it. He started to grab things and lift them, he would try and do pull ups, and even found this amazing contraption that seemed to work everything. David was getting his heart rate sky high, and he even thought he was getting that “workout high” that he had heard about. Suddenly a man in a workman’s uniform tapped David on the shoulder.
“You look like you are really getting a sweat on,” said the workman.
“I am. This machine is great,” David said.
“It sure is, but I need to paint the ceiling so I’m going to have to ask you to get out of my scaffolding,” smiled the workman.
