On their wedding night, a young bride asked her new husband for $20 before they made love. Already highly aroused, the husband agreed without thinking twice. This became a tradition every time they made love for the next 30 years.

One day, the woman arrive home to find her husband drinking in the kitchen. He explained that he had been made redundant, and he was worried about their finances since he was close to retirement.

His wife went to the study and returned with a bank book that showed 30 years of deposits and interest earned on the $20 he had been giving her. Thanks to her savings and investments, they had assets worth more than $3 million.

The man was stunned.

“We’ll be fine,” his wife assured him.
