The royal family have put on a spectacular show of glitz and glamour, ballgowns, crowns, and jewels for a state banquet at Buckingham Palace on day one of the Spanish state visit.

It is the first state visit by the current Spanish royalty, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, with the last Spanish state visit being over 30 years ago with King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia in 1986.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended, with Catherine wearing a stunning low-cut, dusty pink lace gown from fashion design house Marchesa. The gown featured beautiful ruffled detailing on the sleeves, as well as a short train that is truly the dream princess dress of every little girl!

She accessorised the ruffled-sleeved, floor-length gown with pearl drop earrings which belonged to Princess Diana, a stunning diamond and ruby collar necklace on loan from the queen, and her favourite tiara, the Cambridge Lover’s Knot, which was a wedding gift to Diana from the Queen.

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall arrived, with Camilla looking the part of a queen with her bold tiara, stunning diamond earrings, and four-strand pearl necklace. Her elegant white gown was accessorised with a sash, and she gave the crowd a very royal wave.

The Queen herself looked gloriously regal as she posed for photos with the King and Queen of Spain and Prince Phillip, wearing a floor length embroidered white satin gown with a red bow, and blue jewels.

Queen Letizia turned heads in her floor-length scarlet-red gown with an open, off-the-shoulder neckline.
