As school holidays are approaching it’s time to get your activities and crafts ready. Our grandchildren are fixated on their iPads or iPhones, but sometimes it’s the most simplest and fun activities that can keep them entertained and away from the screen.

1. Magnetic paper dolls

10. Homemade kazoo

Materials

• Cardboard tube (old toilet paper roll or paper towel roll)
• Wax paper
• Rubberband
• Sharp pencil (or other sharp object) to poke holes
• Paint or other art supplies to decorate your kazoo (optional)

Cover the end of your cardboard tube with wax paper. Secure it with a rubber band. Poke a hole in the side of the tube using the sharp pencil or other sharp object. Decorate the kazoo with paint and get creative with your grand children.
