She may not be Queen, but when it comes to pregnancy style, Catherine rules them all.
The Duchess of Cambridge put on a show-stopping display as she stepped out with Prince William at the Royal Variety Performance on Friday, shimmering through London’s Palladium Theatre in a glittering blue ballgown.
The soon-to-be mother-of-three was the picture of royal elegance in her Jenny Packham gown.
She paired the extravagant dress with sparkly heels and drop earrings.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Kate was left in a fit of laughter when William was forced to participate in one of the skits during the show.
The prince was as given a small part in a comedy skit from host Miranda Hart, obligingly shouting her catch-phrase “such fun” on request.
The Duke and Duchess were an hour late to the show following a security care in the Underground that saw traffic banked up throughout London.
Thousands of ticket holders struggled to make it to the venue on time forcing organisers to push back the start time.
The royal couple were the subject of a few jokes throughout the evening, but took it all in their stride and like any good Englishman and woman, seemed to quite enjoy having the Mickey taken out of them.
“Can you believe they’ve got an iPad and their watching The Crown?” actress Patricia Hodge asked the audience. “It’s their version of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.”
After the show, William and Kate met with some of the performers and William was reportedly heard joking with one of the Cirque du Soleil performers that he’d “have to go to the gym a bit more and work on my core” before attempting any of their sky-high tricks.
