Carla Zampatti brings the 80s back, shoulderpads and all

Carla Zampatti has showcased her latest range of fashion.

How well do you remember the ‘80s?

Get prepared for lots of reminders, if the latest spring-summer designs from Carla Zampatti are anything to go by.

The famous Australian designer is originally from Italy. She started her brand with just a small collection in 1965. Her first boutique opened in 1973. In the 1980’s Zampatti was named the first Qantas / Bulletin Magazine Business Woman of the Year, going on to be named the Fashion Designer of the Year the following decade.

Now celebrating 52 years in fashion Zampatti showcased her latest range at the Sydney Theatre Company on Thursday.

Corporate empowerment was the theme, with bold colour amongst the black, shoulder pads, loose bows and capes.

There were plenty of Australian celebs who were keen to get a look at the designers latest looks, including Kerri-Anne Kennerley looking stunning herself in an off-the-shoulder piece.

Others were already embracing the shoulder pad look, including newsreader Natarsha Belling, actress Danielle McCormack and shoe designer Terry Biviano.
